Meisner technique acting class will be taught by Markus Flanagan and follow the 2 year format of the Neighborhood Playhouse where Markus studied with Mr. Meisner.  Using the definition of acting as; "The ability to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances" the technique is a series of exercises that get you to your core truth.

First year focus is on the fundamental training of the actor through extensive improvosational exercises, including the "Repetition Exercise," in which the actor's attention is focused upon his or her partner's simple, real behavior.  The revelation from this technique is the basic discovery of one's own, unique instrument.  The student will learn to stay focused upon allowing themselves to behave truthfully in an imaginary circumstance.

Thus, over the year, misconceptions are shed, new techniques are gained and the young actor emerges after eight months a more honest human being with an instrument that is now ready to "act" truthfully in the traditional theatrical sense.

The class will meet once a week, for four hours a night, in a Thousand Oaks location.

---------------------------------------- Endorsements ------------------------------------------------

"I have had three incredible teachers along the way; Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Bettany, and Markus Flanagan." --Austin Nichols - One Tree Hill

"I just want  to thank you and express my gratitude for the classes you taught, in which I was lucky enough to be a student. They have proved to be invaluable through the years.  The tools you stressed in those lessons are no doubt  responsible for getting me the lead in a feature film."

- Campbell Perkinson- Worst Night Ever

"Markus challenged me to find my voice. He taught me that it's okay to be messy and fall on my face and showed me that I already knew how to get back up. As an actor, you can't be afraid of looking like a fool."

-Samantha Thompson-Primer

"Even though I was caught up in some bad stuff, I never lost the life lessons you taught me. I always appreciated how tough and fair you were on me. It's hard to find people that can balance the act of fair and tough, and you did it with the precision of Lombardi. I sometimes catch myself using your kernals of knowledge on the people I love and I have to laugh, because I'm sure your ears must be constantly ringing!" - Dennis Dwyer
